Growing in Raised Beds
The time has come to clear out the raised beds. Can you tell me what to do: Remove all the soil? Place the liners? Mix it with something like well rotted compost or sand? Put it back? Sounds like a lot of work!

Gardening in Raised Beds
I can either make four 4x4 raised beds or two 8x4 raised beds and cannot decide which would be best to order. Would the four smaller beds be better in terms of trying to rotate the beds? Two larger beds would however give me more space to walk around the beds.
Raised Bed Gardening
I purchased two treble-planked raised beds about 5 years ago which were serving me well until the past two years. This year has had the poorest results possible! Failed crops of veg in spite of watering well every evening and feeding once a week forking new compost in too every year.

When I have looked at images of vegetables growing in raised beds, they appear to be slightly closer together than traditionally grown vegetables - is this just the way I am seeing them, or is it that the deeper the raised bed the closer they are planted?

We have one of your 8 by 4 raised beds. Please can you advise us on the distance we should leave between an existing mixed border (bushes, flowers, some trees - all very sparse because of thin soil) and the raised bed.
