raised beds for growing veg

I wonder if you can help me…

I want to start on some raised beds for growing veg but iv never grown veg before so im totally lost…

I have 2 questions to start with…

1                     if I go for the raised bed liners, what would happen to the soil when it rains as bad as it has the last few years? Will my veg get water-logged? Will it damage the veg? is there some way to drain the soil of all the rain so its not water-logged?

2                     What soil exactly do I put in the raised beds? The soil in my garden is very poor. There aren’t even any worms and things don’t grown very well at all.

Im very petite and no spring chicken plus I injured my back so I cant do any heavy lifting or too much bending so I don’t want anything that will be too difficult for me to do on my own.

We understand that you would like to  purchase some Raised Beds and would like some further information regarding these.

 We can confirm that our Raised Bed Liners (product GDN-620) are porous to allow water to drain through, however if you are concerned about your beds becoming water logged then the liners can be pierced with a fork to allow for more water to drain through.

 We would recommend filling your Raised Beds with our Rolawn Fruit and Vegetable Topsoil. Our Fruit and Vegetable Topsoil is high quality, fertile and organically rich and ideal for growing fruit and vegetables in. Please could you detail the size of Raised Beds you would like and we can advise as to how much soil you would need and a price for this. An alternative would be to use the soil you have and add our Rolawn Soil Improver. The Soil Improver is formulated to improve soil structure which enhances drainage and air and water holding capabilities, resulting in healthy plant growth.
