Each piece of furniture is chemically etched by hand after the zinc coating is applied leaving an antique finish. The joy of these hand processes means that every piece has its own character that evolves with age and improves as the product weathers. Colours can vary from light to dark grey. The finish is always varied, it is not a paint and is not intended to be completely uniform, which adds to the charm of these unique pieces.
The Southwold Round Dining Table
The robust round dining table has stylish curved legs, scrolled feet and an attractive top design and can comfortably seat up to 6 people, measuring 1.3m diameter and standing 73cm high.
The sets are available as the Round Dining Table with either 4 Carver chairs or 6 Carver Chairs. The table and chairs are structurally guaranteed for 25 years, but our testing suggests that all the Southwold Furniture Collection can be genuinely considered as heirloom pieces that will last for generations if looked after.
Carver & Side Chairs
The Southwold Carver Chairs (with arms) and Side Chairs (without arms) in the sets have been designed to be both comfortable and beautiful. The material has been carefully selected using different thicknesses of steel to ensure the right amount of 'give' while retaining structural strength. The chair legs use 8mm thick steel for strength and rigidity and the seat base and back use 3mm slats to give comfort and spring to the seat. The arms on the Carver Chairs use 5mm thick steel strip.
Carver chair - Measures 55cm Wide x 67.5cm Deep x 88cm High - Arms are 63.5cm and fit under the tables - seat height is 44cm at the front edge sloping slightly to 42cm at the back edge. Weight 16kg.
Side Chair - measures 55cm Wide x 67.5cm Deep x 88cm High - seat height is 44cm at the front edge sloping slightly to 42cm at the back edge. Weight 14kg.
Add cushions to your furniture set
Cushions are not supplied but can be bought separately and are now available in 5 colours - Grey, Ivory, Sand, Sea Breeze and Sea Grass. The cushions measure 47cm x 47cm x 4cm thick. Made with Acrylic Canvas the cushions are water resistant but store away during the winter and wet weather.
The cushions can be washed by hand at a cool temperature using hand washing detergent. They need to be allowed to dry fully which can take some time. Machine washing is not advised according to the material manufacturer.
Complete your furniture set
Parasols are not supplied but can be bought separately - now available in 2 colours Stone and Meadow Green. Measuring 3m wide and 2.25m tall the parasol has an easy wind mechanism and can also be easily tilted. The aluminium frame and polyester canopy is shower resistant and has a UV50+ sun protection rating.
There are 2 bases available:
- Steel Square Base - weighs 30kg - measures 50cm x 50cm x 1.6cm high
- Granite Square Base - weighs 25kg - measures 40cm x 40cm x 6cm high
Both bases include a stainless steel collar that clicks securely into place using a simple push-and-release mechanism. A robust locking lever then keeps the parasol firmly in position, minimising movement and offering dependable support for larger parasols in outside areas.

I had been pondering over buying this dining set for some time.
Mostly due to the cost.
But now I am so pleased I did buy it.
Its really worth every penny.
It looks great, oozes quality and will last a lifetime.
Its very comfortable especially with the seat cushions.
The only downside with something so robust is the weight of the chairs.
They are quite heavy to move.
Best thing is looking out through our french doors the dining set looks amazing against the backdrop of the garden all year round.
