Product Reviews
Pleased so far, connected to mains tap, little tricky to install but seems to be working well now and should save me a lot of time watering.
Not fit for purpose as it requires more pressure than a typical water butt will provide. Spent considerable amount of time setting up the kit for watering an allotment polytunnel, with water from a water butt. However, the water butt simply does not provide enough pressure. Contacted harrod horticultural support and they advised me that it requires a minimum of 3psi. In a gravity fed system, 3psi requires a water column of approx 7ft. A typical water butt is only about 4ft tall. So they know full well that the pressure will not be high enough, but they advertise it as suitable for a water butt anyway. What is more they wouldn't refund it either, as I had cut the hose into sections to configure it into my beds, and they claim that it is not actually faulty. So, this item has been a total waste of time and money.
Thank you for your feedback and for taking the time to explain your experience with the irrigation kit. We're really sorry to hear that it didn’t work as expected for your polytunnel setup and that it’s caused so much frustration.
We do understand how disappointing it must be to spend time setting everything up, only to find that the pressure from your water butt wasn’t sufficient. We really appreciate your feedback and will look to make the messaging clearer on the site.
We’re sorry we weren’t able to offer a refund in this instance, as once the hose has been cut and used, we’re unfortunately unable to resell or reuse it, but we do appreciate that this adds to your frustration.
Thank you again for your comments, and please don’t hesitate to get in touch if there’s anything further we can do to help.
Based on reviews I bought 2 length of soaker hose. It was connected to a 1000 ltr Ibc tank which provides a metre of head. Filled with clean tap water it worked initially, but within a couple of days the droplets stopped forming and the hose was just damp. When connected to a mains pressure hose it works fine. Annoying as my polytunnel has guttering to collect rain water and the product doesn't work as expected on a low pressure gravity feed
