The crooks measure 2.1m overall with 0.3m designed to be pushed into ground for stability giving 1.8m height above ground.

The shepherd's crook is functional but when loaded with a hanging item, a windy day or an over enthusiastic bird can enable the pole to rotate in the ground.
To avoid this, the crook could be manufactured with an additional off-set leg.
I have another shepherd's crook purchased from elsewhere which incorporates this feature.

These wonderful bird feeder hooks have allowed me to set up a feeding station in front of my patio doors in a small garden with no other hanging points.
They are incredibly sturdy and finished with what seems to be a very tough powder coat - not the usual cheap garbage that flakes off in a few months and ends up in the landfill after the next storm! The classic black finish blends in perfectly with my hedge and I like that it doesnt stand out.
The generous length has allowed me to drive the rod deep into the ground and still have enough height, and ensures it will never topple over time.
I am now planning to fit a narrow trellis screen between the two hooks and grow some honeysuckle between them.
Considering they will last a lifetime, they are incredible value for the price and invaluable for creating a mini wildlife garden.
