Product Reviews
For my wife. We have a specific challenge. A pain to unpack. Is the packaging re-recyclable? We have a young though substantial Gymnocladdus. It approves of 9ft of Devon, historic river bed, topsoil. Fruits, sort of, too. A puzzle there. When it drops, any moment now, the leaflets are dealt with by natural activity, very promptly. The leaf spine though is some 3ft plus long, as you will be aware. (The longest leaf in the North Americas.) This large legume carries poisons in its parts. I suspect, if these spines were woven into utilities they would last for generations. They are a pain to collect. Hopefully, this rake will preclude the need to continue to hand pick every stem. Rgds. Malcolm Hayward.

Product Reviews - Rakes
Kitchen Garden Best Buy 2020 - This is an excellent rake. The stainless steel tines offer valuable rust resistance and the head has a stress distribution bar to stop tines from twisting. There is also just the right spring in the head for releasing the leaves already drawn so that it can go back for more. The hardwood handle was smooth in the hand and of a good length, ensuring less stress on the back when raking.

Raking them in
Clearing up fallen leaves should be near the top of you to-do list this month and Burgon and Ball has launched a new lightweight leaf rake in time for the big autumn tidy-up. The flat tines are made using rust-resistant stainless steel and the extra-long handle is made from FSC-certified ash. Plus it comes with a leather hanging strap to help you store it neatly in the potting shed. It's even been designed to prevent sore backs. The rake comes with a lifetime guarantee - although possibly not from a life free of back pain.
