This attractive herbaceous perennial originates from Mexico and produces two-tone red and white flowers, a beautiful addition to the herbaceous border and can be trimmed back gently during the season to encourage more flowers.
Part of the Sage family, this attractive Salvia grows to a height of 1m (3ft) with a spread of 1m(3ft). Hardy through most of the UK apart from inland valleys, at altitude and central/northerly locations. May suffer foliage damage and stem dieback in harsh winters in cold gardens. Plant can withstand temperatures down to -10°C (14°F) in free-draining soil.
