The OXO Good Grips® Strawberry Huller is a precision instrument when it comes to cleanly plucking the stalk and stem from a juicy strawberry - just the job if fruit salads, tarts or even a few delicious strawberries with cream are on the menu!

A single motion sees the strawberry cleanly pierced and the leaves and hull removed, and a press of the button on the strawberry stem remover handle ejects the unwanted stem. Measuring a 'handy' 7cm in length by 5cm in width, the strawberry huller boasts a removable plunger for easy cleaning, a soft comfortable grip and is perfectly safe to pop into the dishwasher.

I had seen this advertised elsewhere and had been tempted but when I saw it on offer here I thought I'd go for it, as my sons do love a lot of strawberries. I am glad I bought it on offer rather than full price as I think I would have been disappointed at full price. It does make the job easier and a bit faster. I think I must have had the wrong impression at first about how this worked. I had thought it would have some sort of mechanical element to the actual removal but this is purely manual, using the serrated scoop. The button on the side releases the severed hull. This released found not very easy to use at times as it is quite stiff and due to the juices sometimes the hull doesn't just pop off the huller. I think it might have worked better if the button was on the top. Works ok overall and makes things less fiddly and slow.
