The Asparagus Pea is an extremely old vegetable (dating back to the 1590's or earlier) and a real foodies delight! If you love the taste of asparagus but don't have space for permanent crops in your vegetable bed, asparagus peas are well worth trying.
- These lovely asparagus pea plants will produce small winged pods which should be harvested when about 3-4cm long
- They have a superb flavour as the name suggests similar to Asparagus
- Produce brilliant scarlet flowers and will crop all summer long if picked regularly
- To cook, just top and tail the pods, steam or lightly boil and serve with a knob of butter - delicious!
- These plants will arrive bare-rooted with an approximate height of 8-15cm.
