Applying Nemasys Vine Weevil Killer
I have an enquiry which I would be grateful if you could check with product maker about nemasys vine weevil killer spring/autumn outdoor pack.
I have bought this product from you for about last 4-5yrs and this year (finally) my lily bulbs in pots and other plants (eg fuchias in pots) appear to be weevil free.
You sent your packs in spring and autumn and I also applied commercial weevil killers during the intervals of the summer of 2013 due to the high temperature (and possible demise of nematodes) and late autumn.
I want to apply another large outdoor pack of nemasys vine weevil killer just in case, but as growth appears good I wonder if I should order an autumn 2014 /spring 2015 pack on basis that if no grubs are currently active then I would be wasting the spring/autumn 2014 box.
Could you please advise what you would recommend. You previously put me in touch with makers of nemasys direct and a very helpfu l lady c ontacted me but I did not retain her contact details so as not to appear to be taking advantage of goodwill.

It wouldn't do any harm treating your potted bulbs as you have in previous years. However, if everything appears to be growing fine and better than previous years then you may want to watch how things develop for the moment. It sounds as though your approach with using the nematodes has worked, at least to the point that your bulbs have gathered enough energy to set well so far this year. If you begin to notice any lapse in growth you can always treat again in a month or so if you feel the need. It would definitely be worth applying the Autumn 2014 / Spring 2015 nematodes to keep on top of the pests should you not apply prior to this Autumn.
