Supplier offers 2 year guarantee on all replacement cylinders but they should last approximately 6-10 years
Automatic openers work by wax within their cylinder expanding when it's hot, pushing a piston to open the window and contracting in cooler temperatures to close the window again

After years of manually venting my greenhouse I took the plunge and invested in the Bayliss 3 spring auto vent. I fixed it to a side opening wooden window no trouble took about 20 minutes including removing the exesting catches. Then spent a few minutes each day adjusting it so that it ventilated to keep the greenhouse to about 77F. In warmer weather the temperature started to rise further. Bought another autovent for the other end. Very satisfied,works well, good investment saves a lot of time and worry as to overheating my plants. Wish I done it years ago.

The instructions aren't comprehensive but mainly drawings showing the various options for different types of windows. Once you have sat down and worked out the correct/best option for your greenhouse then fitting is fairly straight forward. It works great and does exactly what it says.
