The Gripple Plant Support System is simple but extremely effective, and is suitable for both outdoor and greenhouse use, supplied as a Starter Kit with the option of purchasing additional Gripple Wire and Gripple Clips.
• The Starter Kit consists of 30m of nylon strand and 4 Gripple clips, and is ideal for creating a support system for climbing plants
• Ideal for Clematis and wisteria, for supporting raspberries and runner beans in the vegetable garden, and even for creating a framework for vines.
• Extra components – nylon strand and clips – are readily available.
• The replacement Gripple nylon wire is 100% nylon strand, 50m long, replaces the need to use awkward, ugly and unmanageable wire.
• With no knots or sharp ends, the Gripple nylon strand is easily tensioned by hand using the Gripple clips.
• The Gripple clips are fitted with rollers that grip the nylon strand in one direction, but instantly lock in the other, so the nylon can be easily tensioned, and further tension can always be applied.
• The components are made from non-rusting materials so can be used in any situation, and were originally developed for the viticulture industry.
• Clips are supplied in packs of 10.
• The Gripple Plant Support System is ideal for supporting all sorts of crops and plants, from beans and cane fruit to ornamentals, such as roses and clematis and it is sturdy enough for climbers like wisteria, or to train fruit trees.

"Encourage your flowers to keep their heads held high with this starter kit comprising three each of three lengths - 12in (30cm), 24in (60cm) and 36in (90cm). I was impressed with how robust these stakes were and I wouldn't flinch at using them to give more woody plants a helping hand. They're made from aluminium tubing cut to a point so they can be pushed into the ground more easily. I used a 2ft (60cm) stake on my delphinium, linking the Y shaped arms at the top to form a circle around the flower spike. I also tried two stakes joined together around a clump of Canterbury bells. Another option is to thread twine through the links to tether a plant to a wall. The company recommends them for top-heavy bloomers, such as dahlias and peonies, plus they can be used successfully in pots to support lilies. Once you start using them, like me, you'll find they have a great many uses around the garden. Although pricey, these should last years. You can buy specific lengths in packs of 5 or 10, which is more economical."
