The Paper Potter is a novel, attractive and very effective way of making your own biodegradable seedling pots out of old newspaper; once you've got the knack (and it's very easy to pick up!) of rolling and pressing the paper into shape, you'll never want or need to buy another pot again!
Paper Potters are available in two sizes; the smaller model measures 12.5cm (5") in height and forms paper pots with a 5cm (2") diameter and the larger pot former is 16cm high (6") and the pots it makes - ideal for larger seedlings - measure 9cm (3½") across.
The quirky paper pot maker does produce very useable results though as you can simply plant the seedlings and pot into the ground when ready to plant out in the garden and the roots will grow through as the pot disintegrates in the soil - no root disturbance, no transplant shock and the paper helps keep the compost inside moist too!
Once you've made your paper pots and filled them, the double-ended, FSC oak constructed Paper Patter will help firm the compost whichever size potter you have used and supplied complete with instructions, the Paper Potters and Patter make an excellent gift or present for the gardener!
