Hand made in Sussex, this traditional authentic gardening trug has a sturdy sweet chestnut frame and handle into which fits the willow basket - a really useful design dating back to 1820. In order to enhance the natural hand made look the wood has not been treated.

• Hand-made trug using traditional methods – including the use of froe, drawknives and shaving horse
• The handle and frame rim are from local coppiced sweet chestnut and the boards form cricket-bat willow, soaked to make them pliable enough to bend before being nailed to the frame
• The result is nothing short of a work of art - an all-purpose garden trug for anything from collecting crops and flowers to carrying small hand tools and a bail of string
• Sussex trug measures 50cm x 28cm
