"For gardeners looking to light up their patch with some early colour, now is the time to get cracking and plant late winter/early spring flowering bulbs. Tulips, daffodils, crocus and winter aconite can all be planted now, in pots, under trees or, best of all, in big drifts in grass. Naturalised bulbs in grass are incredibly effective when planted in quantity, but planting hundreds of bulbs using hand trowels can be a chore, to say the least. In this instance a long handled bulb planter is worth its weight in gold, taking the strain out of planting and speeding up the whole process. The Sneeboer bulb planter is made to Sneeboer's usual exacting standards, with hand made stainless steel head and comfortable to use wooded handle and T bar. The head has a handy foot plate and a good, sharp edge that cuts into turf with ease, and with a quick wiggle and twist removes a well formed plug of turf and soil, leaving behind a clean edged hole in which to place the bulb. I planted 50 bulbs in next to no time and found that not only was the tool easy to use, it also made planting a real pleasure. The quality and finish of the tool is superb and with proper care should last a lifetime.
