Product Reviews
I found Grazers effective last year. However, it takes a lot of effort in application and needs to be re-applied after rain. Since we have had a lot of rain lately - !!!! Basically, it is a bit of trial and error finding what works for your garden and "your" rabbits! Remember - they can't read the label!
I live next to a Nature Reserave so rabbits are inevitable (as is the ocassional deer!) This year the rabbits have been particularly bad demolishing everything they could get their teeth into. I have netted as much as I could but one border is particularly vulnerable as it can't be netted. I've had to spray Grazers almost on a daily basis as we have had a lot of heavy rain. However, it does seem to work as the rabbits seem to jog right past and the plants are starting to regenerate. I find a "fine mist" sprayer works best and also if you get right down to bunny level to spray. I tend to spray as I fork around to be sure of reaching all parts of the plant. I have also found the rabbits are not too keen on newly turned earth.
Last year I planted a Rosa Glauca hedge, and was really looking forward to it's progress. In early Spring it was doing so well, with lots of new growth... then I looked out one day and all the foliage had been eaten by rabbits, ( also, very welcome in my garden ). I treated it with Grazers, with a second application after 3 days.As there were no leaves to absorb the product, I just sprayed the stems very carefully, and after 2 weeks, there is now healthy new growth appearing and I am delighted. I'm watching it closely, and will sray again at 1 month. It's fiddly mixing the solution, and it would be great if it came in a ready spray bottle, but it's a miracle product !!
What The Press Say
18th May 2010
As used by the head gardener at Tatton Park
"There was virtually no rabbit damage anywhere."
Garden News7th November 2007
Medwyn Williams, Champion Vegetable Grower, reviewed this product in the 'Specialist Veg' section of Garden News
"The solution is absorbed by the plant through the stem and leaves and this can take a few days, depending on the time of year. It makes the plant totally unpalatable to rabbits, pigeons, deer and geese. An added benefit is that it contains calcium which helps to promote new growth."
