Wormeries
Why do you need a wormery? Worm cast is best used as a first class natural fertilizer, use it sparingly and selectively around the garden - a little goes a very long way! Studies have shown that worms convert organic waste into the best natural fertilizer known – worm cast. It contains from 5 to 11 times the quantity of available N – P – K (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium) than the soil the worms consume to produce the cast. The worms also drastically improve the soil structure. Each worm can convert up to their own weight of waste into worm cast each day. Any liquid that drains from the wormery can be used diluted as a liquid food or as a compost accelerator. Your plants will grow faster and be healthier. It will also improve texture and flavour in crops as the soil condition will be significantly improved over time using this natural and highly complex food.
We've selected the best of the existing wormeries and where we can't find one which meets our standards, we've designed and manufactured our own. You'll also find various packages of live worms to top up your existing wormery, or perhaps set-up a brand new venture. Either way, you'll end up with worm cast absolutely erupting with nutrients, a great looking garden and hundreds of little composting experts to help!
