Use our Leatherjacket Killer - also known as Ambush Leatherjacket Nematodes - to control leatherjackets, the larvae of the cranefly (often known as daddy longlegs) which hungrily feed on the roots of grass, turning lawns yellow in areas and often leading to secondary damage from birds and animals ripping up the lawns to feed on the juicy larvae.

Leatherjacket Killer nematodes are highly effective at killing small and young leatherjacket larvae and have coined the 'Ambush' name as after application, they lie in wait for leatherjacket larvae to pass nearby and then pounce! Nemasys Vine Weevil Killer is just the thing for gardeners who have had their pot and border plants mysteriously killed by the underground, root-feeding menace of vine weevil larvae. These greedy grubs live in the soil, feed on plant roots - even burrowing into corms, tubers and rhizomes - and not surprisingly cause plants to wilt, keel over and even die.

Many ornamental plants and fruit bushes are affected by the larvae but the nematodes (Steinernema kraussei) which form the Nemasys Vine Weevil Killer soon hunt out and kill them when applied in March and autumn. Nemasys Chafer Grub Killer will put a stop to the lawn-decimating activities of Chafer Grubs and also help bring to a halt the secondary lawn damage cause by birds, foxes and badgers as they attempt to dig up the grubs to eat.

Due to the lifecycle of the chafer grubs, only a small application window for the Nemasys Chafer Grub Killer exists; you'll need to water in the tiny microscopic worms between late July to early Autumn and ensure temperatures are above 12ºC for a successful cull.

The nemotodes which form Nemasys Chafer Grub Killer will seek out the chafer grubs and attack the pest by entering natural body openings. Once inside, they release bacteria that stops the pest from feeding which quickly kills it. The nematodes then reproduce inside the dead pest and release a new generation which disperse and look for further prey. One pack of Nemasys Chafer Grub Killer treats up to 100 square metres of lawn with only 1 application required.

Aphid Control using Ladybirds is something that nature came up with a very long time ago and as usual, nature knows best - and that's why introducing adult ladybirds into the garden to help in the constant battle against greenfly and blackfly is proving very popular and effective. Aphid Control using Ladybirds uses adult ladybirds (adalia bipunctata) - very effective predators of aphids - for indoor control, where in a contained environment such as a greenhouse or conservatory they can eat up to 5,000 aphids in their lifespan!

Whitefly Control uses a tiny parasitic wasp (encarsia formosa) and has been used to control whitefly from 1926; supplied as pupae on cards which are simply hung in a shady position throughout the crop, each application of encarsia is supplied on 25 hanging cards with approx 60 pupae on each card making a total of 1500 pupae.

Whitefly Control will be most effective when temperatures are at least 18 degrees C during the day and 10 degrees C at night and you can always fall back on our 3 treatment Whitefly Control Programme - 1500 encarsia are supplied each week for three weeks - to get on top of infestations and reduce numbers to a manageable level.

The Whitefly Control Programme consists of 3 applications of the parasitic wasp Encarsia formosa, regarded as the most effective way to control whitefly in the greenhouse.

Aphid Control using Ladybird Larvae is the answer to your outdoor aphid problems; the larvae can eat 100-150 aphids per day and can be used on a wide variety of outdoor plants where arguably the gardener's biggest enemy is present. Aphid Control using Ladybird Larvae is supplied in jute bag which is simply hung on a soft fruit plant, tree or shrub (use 2-3 bags for larger trees) and the hungry larvae (50 in total) quickly emerge in search of a snack or 100!

Both adult ladybirds and larvae can be applied from early May (only apply larvae in temperatures of 10ºC+ indoors or outdoors) but neither should be introduced after September. Repeat treatments of Aphid Control using Ladybird Larvae as required.

The Spider mite attacks many plants including tomatoes, strawberries and ornamentals causing leaves to turn yellow, weakening plants and spreading viruses - it is important to apply (phytoseiulus persimilis) in Spider mite Control as soon as the mites are detected. These predatory mites are capable of devouring large numbers of the spider mites and breed very rapidly. Applied at a rate of 30 mites per square metre, the persimilis mite is effective at higher temperatures (+ 20°C) and can also be used outdoors in the height of summer.
