Where were you at 8pm last Friday evening?
If you were plonked in front of the TV, you may have seen the latest episode in the BBC 2 series 'A Year at Kew', presented by the venerable Alan Titchmarsh.
This watchable programme goes behind the scenes at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew, south-west London http://www.rbgkew.org.uk/ and one aspect of last week's show was of particular interest to me; the biological control of aphids in the temperate house.

We at Harrod Horticultural have long advocated this fascinating - and natural - method of pest control, details of which can be found here - http://www.harrodhorticultural.com/HarrodSite/category/Pest%20Control_Biological%20Pest%20Control/ - and a high brow production such as 'Kew' bringing this - and it was successful, as the programme revealed - form of pest management to the uninitiated can only help our gardens and environment.
You can find full details of the series at http://www.bbc.co.uk/gardening/tv_and_radio/yearatkew_index.shtml and don't forget to tune in next Friday.
