The British Potato Council are once again holding their highly popular celebration of the chip, as from the 12th to the 18th of February is National Chip Week.
There's no denying that the chip is Britain's favourite food, but it's equally true that they get a bad press - and unfairly too, as National Chip Week aims to highlight. There are many different events planned for the seven day potato-fest, and the British Potato Council have even teamed up with top celebrity chef Ed Baines http://www.bbc.co.uk/food/chef_biogs/a.shtml to bring you some wonderful new chip-based recipes.

Of course, growers like ourselves know all about the origins of the chip, as we toil long and hard, beating off blight, slugs and wireworms, to grow our favourite spuds for home chipping. Why not let us know your number one chipping potato and see how many different varieties we get?!martin@harrod.uk.com
