The 12 Litre Spindle Grape and Fruit Press opens the floodgates to freshly squeezed grape, strawberry and blackcurrant juice at a price which won't pinch your pockets!
This spindle fruit press is manufactured to the same exacting standards as our 12 litre Cross-Beam Fruit Press - press cage made from fashioned beech staves embraced with steel hoops, steel legs pre-drilled with boltholes for permanent fixing and added stability and finished in EU safety standard compliant polyester coating - but the difference between this fruit press is the 'twist and extend' mechanism, whereby the supplied wooden blocks are stacked up on the pressing plate, then as the handle is twisted more pressure is consequently exerted on the fruit which in turn produces delicious juice.
Ideal for effectively juicing larger quantities of grapes, strawberries, currants and other soft fruits - the twist and extend pressing plate will crush approximately half the pressing cage contents - the 12 litre spindle grape and fruit press measures 58cm high by 37cm diameter.

Our horticulturist Martin Fiddes says; "Crushing and pressing fruit to extract juice is a process rich in history, with the production of apple juice and cider stretching back to Norman times. Things have moved on a bit since then, and today, pressing your own home-grown fruit could not be easier.
"This spindle grape and fruit press is the fruit press to go for if grapes, currants and berries are on your pressing list as the wooden blocks which you stack up on the pressing plate help exert more pressure on the juice-rich contents and the rsult is litres of sumptuous, fresh fruit juice.
"It's also possible to experiment with different varieties of fruit to concoct your own unique flavoured juice and don't forget the compacted fruit pulp created when pressing – known as pomace – is suitable for the compost heap.
"We've also run some tests to find out just how efficient using a crusher prior to pressing your apples can be - and the results are staggering! After cutting 30 apples into quarters and putting them straight in the press produced 350ml of juice, but running the same amount of quartered apples through a crusher first produced a whopping 1600ml of fresh juice - and increase of 357%!"

Many of you have more than one fruit tree, and unless you have extrodinary appetites, I am willing to bet that (on a good year) they produce more apples and pears than you can comfortably eat. You could, of course, store them, but how about making apple juice instead? Harrod Horticultural have a range of good-looking fruit presses that can convert your windfalls into something delicious.
