Great for growing salads (lettace, radish, spring onions, baby carrots, spinach etc). For me the primary advantage is the slugs and snails cannot get to the plants, plus of course I can look after the plants without having to kneel down. It is just a matter of harvesting fresh salad as and when we want. The addition of the PVC cover makes it easier to control the grwing climate.

Having purchased the ladder garden last year the only problem I had was that it got waterlogged, although drilling holes in the trays helped. When I saw the cover in this year's catalogue I knew it was something that would work well. Not only does it protect plants from rain but also frost as I planted one layer a week ago and we had -4 a few nights later and the plants were fine. I know it looks like an expensive product but it does have a 5 year guarantee and extending the growing season by at least 2 month per year that is a minimum of 10 months extra growing time. It is also a very strong product and easy to put on. I have no hesitatation recommending this product.
