The handy Dual Display Indoor/Outdoor Thermometer with Alarm will give you all the temperature-based data you'll need from both inside and outside the greenhouse to keep your plants safe - and with the additional bonus of a low and high temperature alarm alert, you can put in place heaters or ventilation to ensure plants never dry out or suffer frost damage again!
The indoor/outdoor thermometer has a host of features; an easy-to-read digital display screen measures 36mm wide by 16mm high; flip between celcius and farenheit readings and set the alarm with simple push button controls and the wide temperature range (-20°C to +70°C indoor and -50°C to +70°C outdoor) will cope with all the extremes of British weather.
A dual display reveals the current indoor and outdoor temperature simultaneously by way of a built in thermostat and probe respectively and the max/min memory function allows you to find out what happened temperature-wise during the day or night in your absence. The alarm function warns if a minimum or maximum temperature of your choice has been reached or exceeded, and with full instructions and 1 x AAA battery included, you'll take complete climate control of your greenhouse or potting shed in no time!

Electronic max/min air thermometers...
A 'Best Buy' since 2007, this model is even more accurate than the Brannan but is less intuitive to use and the buttons aren't as clearly labelled. It's alarm can be set to beep at temperatures of yur choice. The probe has a 3m-long lead and though the instructions don't suggest this, could monitor soil temperature, as long as you keep the display box dry.

'Best Buy' - This is my favourite thermometer. Like the Gardman it is very versatile, having an external temperature probe on a 3m (10ft) long cable, but it also features and alarm. The alarm will alert you when temperatures go outside the high and low temperature ranges you've set.
