If you plan to erect your aluminium cage on a site that regularly experiences high winds, and / or if the soil condition is light and sandy, we recommend the addition of braces to give your cage extra rigidity. One brace kit, which will work on either a corner upright or a side upright, contains two aluminium struts and all the fittings required. The brace can be fitted after assembly of the main framework or retro fitted to an existing cage. Cages up to 6m (19’6’’) x6m (19’6’’) will require braces at the corners only, for bigger cages (in any direction) we recommend that at least the middle upright is braced on the sides over 6m (19’6’’) of the cage.

Aluminium Fruit Cages are an extremely cost effective option for crop protection - lightweight, with a natural finish, supplied complete with all heavy duty netting, all fixings and one fruit cage door as standard. The 25mm diameter cage framework makes them the strongest fruit cage in their class.

• All Harrod Horticultural Aluminium Fruit Cages come complete with extra heavy-duty side netting and heavy duty roof netting to achieve maximum protection.
• The aluminium fruit cage stands 2.0m (6'6") above the ground and 0.3m (12") into the ground.
• Complete with one door unit as standard and 25mm (1") round uprights and roof supports
• Unlike other aluminium fruit cages on the market, the top rods do not sag when tension is applied to the roof netting.
• Toprods are secured with rigid expanding connectors to make this the strongest fruit cage in its class.
• The extra heavy-duty extruded polythene side netting has a 16mm x 16mm square mesh
• The high density heavy-duty polyethylene roof netting has a 20m x 20m diamone mesh.
• The 19mm diameter doorframe is 970mm wide and comes complete with plastic locking hinges, spring clip door catch and a seperate door catch upright
