Wide Shaped Protection Hoops
Our new Wide Shaped Protection Hoops (formerly known as Caravan Hoops) have been designed specifically for use with our Timber or Link-a-Bord Raised Bed Systems and are available in three popular sizes. These Protection Hoops have proved invaluable in our own Kitchen Garden Project. Supplied complete with anchors and all sizes are available individually or in money saving Extra Value Packs.

Small hoops can be used with the link-a-bord beds together with 2.1m insect-mesh or 2.6m polythene.

The Medium version fits perfectly with the timber raised bed and can be covered with 2.6m insect-mesh or 2.6m polythene sheeting.

Large caravan hoops are ideal for protecting taller growing vegetables and we recommend covering with 3.1m polythene sheet or 3.2m insect-mesh.

• Small hoops measure 88cm W x 64cm H and are manufactured from 19mm D galvanised steel
• Medium hoops measure 1.03m W x 85cm H and are manufactured from 25mm D galvanised steel
• Large hoops measure 1.38m W x 84cm H and are manufactured from 25mm D galvanised steel
• Create cloches to protect crops at any growth stage
• Distinctive wide shape that maximises crop growth & yield
• Complete with heavy duty ground anchors which measure 22cm across and are 42cm deep

"Simple to put together. With these systems, you place the hoops into the ground and then stretch out the appropriate fleece, polythene or netting cover over them. This then has to be secured into the ground using pegs, earth or heavy stones.

The Caravan Hoops are ideal if setting up a long-term enclosure. The earth anchors have to be hammered down a long way, which can be hard work if the soil is compacted. Once in, though, they are not easy to move quickly and are less likely to be lifted by the wind. They are flexible, strong and very effective for low-growing crops when used with fleece or polythene.
