Rolawn Topsoil is where to turn to once you've built your raised bed - although you might think the hard work is over, actually filling it with a suitable mix of soil and organic matter which will give your home-grown vegetable plants every chance of making it to the kitchen table is the difficult part. That's why we've teamed up with Rolawn, the country's leading supplier of topsoil, to bring you high quality peat-free soil mixes to cover not just your raised bed requirements but all your general gardening needs. Choose from the Blended Loam, Vegetable and Fruit Topsoil and Soil Improver (all supplied in 1000 litre bags which, in the case of the loam and topsoil, contain up to 50% more product than 1 tonne of ordinary topsoil) recipes to give beds, borders, vegetable patches a real boost.

All types of topsoil, soil improver and compost are supplied in 1000 litre tote bags but if that's not enough to meet your needs, we offer discounts on orders of two bags or more. We also arrange delivery - directly from Rolawn - to your address (please note we deliver to mainland UK only) so when ordering, please provide a daytime telephone number on which you can be contacted to arrange delivery - otherwise the despatch and delivery of your Rolawn order will be delayed.

Delivery Information
As the Rolawn soil is delivered in 1000 litre bags - which are both bulky in size and heavy - it is important to ensure you have suitable vehicular access before ordering to avoid disappointment and extra or failed delivery charges. Please take a moment to read through Rolawn's detailed Delivery Requirements Checklist and view their delivery terms and conditions below - failure to do so could result in extra delivery charges.

• Delivery is available to UK mainland addresses only
• Deliveries will be made between 7am and 6pm, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays)
• Rolawn bulk bags and pallets are 'non-returnable'
• If delivery questions are not answered correctly and delivery is attempted but fails, extra delivery or failed delivery charges will be incurred
• Orders are despatched directly from Rolawn. You will be contacted directly by Rolawn to arrange your delivery which will be made between 7am-6pm Monday/Friday (excluding Bank Holidays)

IMPORTANT: all Rolawn products have eight pricing Zones according to postcode (see grid below). When placing your order, please ensure you select the correct Zone for your delivery address postcode; failure to do so will result in a delay in despatching your Rolawn soil.

 

  

There are four types of soil we supply, courtesy of the country's leading turf and topsoil supplier Rolawn, and all have specific uses around the garden. The Blended Loam is best for general use and landscaping projects; use the Vegetable and Fruit Topsoil for filling your kitchen garden raised beds; if you're looking to mulch around plants or add organic matter to some poor soil then the Soil Improver is the one to go for and the Organic Multi-Purpose Compost, apart from covering all your seed sowing and potting needs, has too many garden uses to list!

Blended Loam Topsoil
Rolawn Blended Loam® Topsoil is a high quality, fertile, environmentally friendly, organic rich multi-purpose topsoil. It is a blend of Rolawn Screened Loam and peat free soil conditioner. It is ideal for using in planting and landscaping where a quality outcome is essential. It is light, friable and easy to work, even in wet conditions.

-Peat free
-Analysed to the most exacting BS standards
-PH typically 7.3
-Light, friable and easy to use - even in the wet
-Minimal stone content
-Organic content on average 9%
-1 cubic metre (1 x 1000 litre bag - approximate volume when packed) covers up to 20 square metres at a depth of 50mm)

Vegetable and Fruit Topsoil
Rolawn Vegetable & Fruit Topsoil is a fertile, organic rich, friable topsoil. It is a consistent blend of topsoil derived from prime arable land and a consistent organic matter, which ensures consistent results. It does not contain manures which can be variable and in some instances, potentially harmful.

-Screened to 20mm
-Peat free
-Contains soil conditioner
-Mix of topsoil and conditioner to suit a variety of fruit and vegetables
-Analysed to the most exacting BS standards
-PH typically 7.6
-Friable and easy to use - even in the wet
-Minimal stone content
-Organic content on average 6%
-1 cubic metre (1 x 1000 litre bag - approximate volume when packed) covers up to 20 square metres at a depth of 50mm)
For certain crops which require a higher supply of nitrogen - such as tomatoes and courgettes - it will be necessary to apply a supplementary fertiliser of your choice.

Soil Improver
Rolawn Soil Improver is a natural, peat free soil conditioner/improver produced using a patented process combining shredded straw compost with iron minerals. It is highly fertile and will improve soil structure, which will enhance the soil's drainage characteristics and air and water holding capabilities, resulting in healthy plant growth.

-Usual ph range is 6 - 6.5
-Minimal stone content
-Bulk density (weight to volume ratio) is 550kg per 1 cubic metre bag (1000 litres - approximate volume when packed)
-Coverage;up to 14 square metres at a depth of 75mm, up to 20 square metres at a depth of 50mm and up to 33 square metres  at a depth of 30mm
-Typical application rates for topsoils with low levels of organic matter:
Heavy clay soil - a layer, 75mm deep, should be incorporated to a depth of 200mm,
Light sandy soil - a layer, 30mm deep, should be incorporated to a depth of 200mm,
Mulching - 50mm layer.
