And yes, the seeds are organic - certified by the Soil Association no less...
But we haven't all got the time, equipment or space to raise our vegetables and herbs from seed, however much we'd like to. Does this put a stop to our gardening? Not a bit of it as the collection of organic plug plant packages we've pulled together - with a little help from our organic contacts, granted - will give you an instant garden come spring. These collections know no boundaries - they'll suit sprawling kitchen gardens and containers on roof terraces alike, delivering fresh herbs and vegetables straight to your plate. |

Organic Vegetable and Herb Plug Plants |

Raised organically in the West Country - England's own greenhouse - our range of vegetable, salad and herb plug plant collections give those of us without the space, time or facilities to raise plants from seed an instant garden. Ideal for both novice and experienced gardeners alike, the five plug plant packages we offer cater for almost all garden and culinary needs and are delivered to your door, ready to plant - all raised without the use of pesticides, herbicides, chemical sprays and fertilisers by our highly-regarded growers, who have over 70 years of experience behind them. These plug plants have an impressive list of credientials; they are raised from Soil Association approved organic seed; they are grown in compost approved for use in organic systems by, once again, the Soil Association; they are grown without the use of artificial heat, helping to avoid the burning of fossil fuels and providing for a hardier growing seedling and in most instances each plant is grown in its own individual biodegradable pot - leading to a stronger, more extensive root system. The plants will be approximately 10cm (4") high when they arrive with you and full growing instructions are included, but you can always e-mail our experts at martin@harrod.uk.com or sharon@harrod.uk.com with any queries you may have.. Please note that plug plants are not available individually and we only supply in the set configurations detailed. Plants will be despatched again from May 2010.

Fundamental to the success of any vegetable or kitchen garden is the quality of the seeds, and we've put together a fine selection of vegetables, leafy salads and herb seeds - all certified organic by the Soil Association, no less - which we're sure you'll enjoy selecting from, growing and, of course, eating. Wherever possible we've included tips on sowing, planting and caring for the crops, mostly based on the experience gained from our own Harrod Horticultural Kitchen Garden project and we're also on hand to help if (more likely when!) you encounter any pest or disease problems during the growing season - just e-mail our e-mail our experts at martin@harrod.uk.com or sharon@harrod.uk.com with any queries you may have.
