| Greenhouse Ventilation |
Greenhouse Ventilation - greenhouse ventilation is one of the most important aspects of greenhouse growing and it's easy for us gardeners to neglect plants in the summer - but the heat can do just as much damage as the cold in winter. Our selection of automatic greenhouse vents, window openers, shade netting and glass paint help combat the heat of the sun, stop plants drying out and wilting and avoid the humid conditions that many common plant diseases thrive in.
But what about if the gardener wants to take a couple of weeks off in the summer? It's not an unreasonable request and the temperature sensitive, automated openers we supply will keep the greenhouse cool whilst you're away soaking up the sun. |

Bayliss XL Autovent |
from £20.45
We've found these Bayliss Automatic Greenhouse Vent Openers to be the best on the market and are suitable vents for both wooden or aluminum grenhouse windows and frames. With the two of the most important aspects of successful greenhouse growing being adequate ventilation and preventing excessive temperatures, the Bayliss XL Greenhouse Autovents are invaluable as they react to changes in greenhouse temperature and open and close vents accordingly . Please note that although the Bayliss XL Autovent will fit the vast majority of greenhouses, some models of Halls and Robinsons may require additional fixings. We also recommend the Bayliss MK7 Autovent for use on any Alton greenhouse structure. |

Louvre Window Kit |
£36.95
This Louvre Window Kit consists of the operating components for a six-bladed louvre, complete with all the fixings required for fitting to an aluminium greenhouse. A Louvre Window placed low in the sides or end of any greenhouse will help improve airflow and aid summer ventilation; both desirable traits when growing in a greenhouse.
Increased airflow will help keep humidity levels down and avoid the conditions that certain fungal diseases - such as botrytis - enjoy, and the adjustable cooling effect of the louvre window in the summer will be welcomed by plants and gardeners alike. Glass blades for the Louvre Window Kit are not supplied, but the pane you will have to remove to fit the unit can be cut to minimise waste. Glass panes are also available from glass merchants or glaziers who will usually cut the glass into slats to fit the kit. The Louvre Window Kit replaces a 61cm (24") square pane. |
