The Timber Wire Frame is a fantastic way to encourage greater yields of cane fruit and other trained types of fruit trees and bushes both in the garden or vegetable plot or inside the safety of a fruit cage!

Our handsome design of wooden plant support frame brings together an incredibly strong steel cable wiring system with an especially sturdy timber framework - the wire support frame is ideal for cane fruit such as raspberries, tayberries, blackberries and boysenberries or for training fruit such as apples, pears and peach into espalier or fan forms. The chunky 10cm/4” thick posts of the wooden frame stand 2m/6’5” above the ground and have a 2.5m/8’2” long timber crossbar fixed across the top for superb stability, and all timber has been high pressure treated to ensure a longer life. The timber plant support kit comes complete with 5 barrel strainers and fixings and the 65m of supplied steel cable easily allows 5 tensioned lines to be fixed between the posts at your desired spacing to offer optimum support for fruit laden canes and branches. The timber wire frame comes in complete kit form (both the frame and wire) and a wire cable kit is also available separately.

The stubborn, 3.25mm gauge steel bar defies all sorts of unfavourable soil conditions - stones, flint, brick, builders' debris and heavily compacted ground - to heroically create the perfect holes for arch and fruit cage uprights and will withstand heavy and prolonged hammering from a mallet or sledge hammer. These Steel Fruit Cage Braces give our steel cages extra rigidity when exposed to high winds or softer soil. Two types are available; corner braces and mid-braces - and both require fitting as the cage is being erected. The braces can be used on any of our steel fruit cage designs - standard, peaked or domed.

The new improved fruit cage door kit has a steel supporting brace for extra stability, is made from 25mm (1") square galvanised painted steel as our heavy duty steel fruit cages and is supplied with one foot plate for added stability.

A steel, zinc plated foot plate for the door hinging upright is supplied as standard with steel fruit cages but is not included with the door kit for aluminium fruit cages, this foot plate ensures the hinging upright maintains position in softer soil conditions. Extra foot plates for all uprights can be supplied at an additional cost.

Make installation of your Steel Fruit Cage even easier with our Steel Ground Sockets and Driving Cap. Just hammer the sockets into the ground - protected by the cap - and insert the cage upright, which will be held firmly in position.

If you plan to erect your aluminium cage on a site that regularly experiences high winds, and /or if the soil condition is light and sandy, we recommend the addition of these Aluminium Fruit Cage Braces to give your cage extra rigidity. One brace kit, which will work on either a corner upright or a side upright, contains two aluminium struts and all the fittings required. The brace can be fitted after assembly of the main framework or retro fitted to an existing cage. Cages up to 6m (19’6’’) x6m (19’6’’) will require braces at the corners only, for bigger cages (in any direction) we recommend that at least the middle upright is braced on the sides over 6m (19’6’’) of the cage.

These braces are only suitable for use on our 25mm gauge walk-in Aluminium Fruit Cages, not the aluminium tubing and build-a-ball vegetable cages we also supply.

This Additional Aluminium Fruit Cage Door Kit is made from the same 'strongest in class' 25mm diameter tubular aluminium and is designed to fit our popular walk-in Aluminium Fruit Cages.

The door kit frame measures 970mm in width and is supplied complete with locking hinges, clip-on door catches and a separate door catch upright for complete fruit cage security. Although our aluminium fruit cages are all supplied with a door kit as standard, we decided to make these extra doors available to create further access points - particularly useful in large cages or when fruit and vegetable planting dictates.
