As well as the pre-galvanised extra strength 1.5mm thick x 25mm square steel with a matt black powder coated finish, the RHS endorsed Roman Arch boasts flush fitting plastic-capped steel connectors and black stainless steel bolts, and with four fixed width/height options (1.2m, 1.5m, 2m and 2.5m wide and 2.29m, 2.45m, 2.7m and 2.95m high respectively) you'll have no problems spanning a pathway or bed.

Like the other stunning garden arch designs in our range - the Ogee Arch and Gothic Arch - the Roman metal garden arch is available in two versions for easy installation; Option 1 is the below ground, WITHOUT sockets version which can be installed directly into soil with a handy hole former (available as an optional extra) and we've provided an additional 40cm/16” on each upright to secure into the ground. Option 2 is above ground installation WITH surface mount sockets and is ideal for those with stone, brick or general hard ground, as well as concrete surfaces like pathways. The above ground installation with surface mount sockets is a hassle-free and quick method of assembly in which uprights simply slot into the sockets positioned on the ground. To secure the sockets there is a choice of either galvanised steel pins for hard ground or specialist bolts for concrete, so select what you need as an optional extra.

Although the Garden Arch Fixing Pins and Bolts are supplied complete with all above ground installation forms of arch (Gothic, Ogee and Roman designs), we thought it would be useful if you could purchase these secure fixings separately as well.

The 40cm long reinforced steel bar fixing pins are designed to pass through the hole in the arch base unit socket and secure the structure into soil or hard ground and come in handy 16 pin packs. The 12mm thick galvanised silver coloured steel pins have a large head to make hammering into stony, hard or even light soil a simple task and almost their entire lengthy is devoted to keeping your garden arch in position.

For arches mounted on hard standing surfaces or concrete, look no further than the arch fixing bolts; supplied in the same pack size (16) as the pins, these tough fixing bolts will hold themselves into concrete, slabs, patios and all hard standing areas. The rawl-plug-like sockets expand once the bolt and washer are inserted, providing a rock solid anchoring point and enabling you to install your arch in courtyards, on patios and pretty much everywhere that would otherwise be out of the question - all you need to do is drill a 14mm diameter hole to accommodate them!
